Fort-Mahon-Plage, the northernmost sea resort in Picardy

During your stay in the Somme, explore Fort-Mahon-Plage just 6km from Camping des Roses. The lovely family-friendly sea resort has a huge sandy beach with lots of water sports, one of the biggest dune areas in Europe and countless bike paths through the pine forests making Fort-Mahon a great destination to experience something new with family and friends!

A wide range of things to do on land or sea, dune or pine forest...

With its beautiful sandy beaches and soft slope down to the sea, Fort-Mahon brings holidaymakers all the joys of the seaside. If you've always wanted to try sand-yachting or sailing, paddle-boarding or kite-surfing then now's the time. Make the most of how close Camping des Roses is to Fort-Mahon's water sports centres (10 minute drive) to dive in!
If you don't have sea legs, you may prefer a round of golf at Belle Dune between Fort-Mahon Plage and Quend-Plage. The 18-hole golf course is nestled between the maritime pine forest and dunes making it one of the best in Picardy!
If you love horse riding, you can gallop down the beach or explore the Baie d'Authie and Marquenterre with an experienced guide and expert in the bay. Other family outings: pony treks or carriage rides!
If camping holidays are all about cycling, you'll love hitting the many bike paths along the lake to the village of Belle Dune through the pine forest up to Quend, deep into Parc du Marquenterre or right up to the Baie de Somme!

Stroll on Avenue de la Plage and soak up the relaxed lifestyle in Fort-Mahon

If you walk anywhere during your trip to Fort-Mahon, it has to be on Avenue de la Plage! With its boutiques and restaurants, we love having a stroll down here with an ice cream, treating the kids to a carriage ride, soaking up the sunshine on the terrace after a dip or buying a little souvenir of our camping holidays in the Baie de Somme. If you visit Fort-Mahon at night then try your luck in the casino. If you don’t fancy breaking the bank then take the family or your loved one to dinner and feast on a plate of mussels, salt marsh lamb and a delicious gâteau battu...

Visit Parc du Marquenterre a little further afield

Fort-Mahon-Plage lies on the edge of Parc du Marquenterre, a prime spot for you to get up close and personal with incredible flora and fauna during your camping break in the Hauts-de-France. In the heart of the Baie de Somme Nature Reserve, Parc du Marquenterre is a unique ornithological park that covers over 200ha of dunes, forests and marshes. You can walk or cycle through this stunning park by following the signposted trails or a nature guide.
